- Oversee the Foundation's collection of funding programs, including three annual internally run award programs and joint programs hosted with external partners. - Lead the Research & Grants team, and an annual investment portfolio of approximately $10MM

- Manage the Foundation's Single Ventricle Research Fund and Expansion Award streams, including managing scientific review, investment strategy, execution, & award management; portfolio includes over 75 active grants and commitments of over $30MM - Lead the Foundation's initiatives in designing and vetting new research award programs - Lead the development & execution of grant review processes, including final funding recommendations - Write & negotiate award contracts, monitor contract requirements and reporting - Support the management of the Scientific Advisory Board- Support strategic planning to engage the scientific community- Represent the Foundation at external scientific meetings

- Elected as the Society’s inaugural Councilor for Virology Trainees, a full voting member of the Society’s governance, elected to represent the next generation of virologists in all Society decisions. - Advocated for opportunity and recognition of postdoctoral and student contributions, including budget allocation to support early career scientist interests, and the creation of a Satellite Symposium recognizing outstanding science done by early career investigators.- Ex-officio member of the Council's Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee, and the Education & Careers Committee.

Project: "Dissecting ADP-ribosylation as an innate immune response countering influenza virus replication"- Characterized ADP-ribosylation responses that occur during viral infection, and mechanisms of viral antagonism - Managed an independent research project, generated mutant ADP-ribosylation-resistant viruses and proteins, and developed and optimized biochemical protocols to preserve, enrich, and detect ADP-ribose modifications- Managed a productive collaboration with a team at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health- Guest instructor in graduate virology course (Host-Parasite Relationships in Vertebrate Viral Disease MMI 750, Spring 2018) - Awarded with travel awards to attend American Society for Virology Annual Meetings, and elected as the inaugural Councilor for Virology Trainees on ASV Council- Selected for oral presentations at three conferences and authored an NIH grant application (under review)- Co-mentored 1 undergraduate student, 1 rotation PhD student, and 1 research specialist; served on executive committee of UW-Madison Postdoc Association and developed a postdoc peer mentoring organization

Dissertation: "Global control of host antiviral response by rotavirus NSP1" - Investigated a novel pathway by which rotavirus antagonizes host interferon responses to reveal widespread control of immune pathways, and a requirement for host kinases for viral protein function and control of host ubiquitin ligases- Gained experience in biochemical, virological, cell biology, molecular biology, and immunological techniques - Awarded 4 years of funding as an Intramural Research Training Award fellow to study at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, received travel awards to American Society for Virology annual conferences and the International Double-Stranded RNA Virus Symposium (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), recognized by Indiana University with a 3rd place Speaker Award at the Annual Microbiology Retreat, and honored for exemplary research in veterinary medicine with the Avrum Gudelsky Graduate Student Award (Homer & Martha Gudelsky Family Foundation) - Selected for 6 oral presentations and 3 poster presentations at local and international conferences- Offered course instruction as a Teaching Assistant in Johns Hopkins undergraduate Biochemistry Lab and Cell Biology Lab; guest lecturer in Human Virology (NIH, Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences, NIH)- Co-mentored 2 doctoral students and 3 undergraduate students- Co-authored 3 publications

Project: "Monitoring of CaMKII oligomerization states and autophosphorylation"; - Gained experience in spectroscopy, protein biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques- Developed CaMKII mutant proteins with altered oligomerization states to query relationships between function and complex formation - Co-authored two publications and meeting abstracts for 5 poster presentations
