Used GIS for capital improvement projects, asset management, and infrastructure inventories.Worked extensively in field using a RTK TopCon GPS unit to collect over 3,500 points for the water, sewer, and storm water utility systems to add to the Town’s GIS database for utilities. Used an iPad with an ESRI Collector App to record attribute data and pictures for the stormwater system.Ensured data integrity by using QA/QC techniques and SQL to identify erroneous attribute values, populate missing metadata, and make mass edits to certain data layers. Created 12 user-friendly, customized tools inModel Builder to allow non-GIS users to query information about street signs and pavement markings in ArcMap 10.3. Stored, analyzed, and queried data in this system in the relational database management system.

Responsibly managed and treated over a dozen different species of exotic, invasive plants in twelve national park units throughout the Southeast region of the US using manual, mechanical, and chemical control methods. Safe operation and maintenance of chainsaws, brush cutters, hand tools, and herbicide sprayers.Safe use, handling, storage and application of pesticides including extensive use of PPE. Responsible for managing spatial data and turning raw data into useful information to help inform decisions. Worked on multiple projects that demanded creative, critical thinking to address research questions and solve spatial problems. Specific projects include:• Assisted with developing a strategy to connect focal habitat features in Teton County, WY through corridors that wildlife was mostly likely to travel. Worked primarily with raster data and explored options such as cost path, kernel density, and distance cluster analysis. • Interpreted hyperspectral AVIRIS imagery in ENVI, converted sagebrush plots to ROIs, extracted mean reflectance values, and performed a partial least squares regression analysis on dataset.• Completed a data management project that organized 500 GB of spatial data into appropriate geodatabases------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Also responsible for teaching the lab portion of the Intro to GIS and Advanced GIS classes with 20-30 undergraduate students, specific tasks include:• Supported undergraduate students in using ArcGIS 10.3 for themes such as site suitability models, analyzing census data, focal and zonal statistics, and other geoprocessing applications. • Efficiently troubleshot problems and explained concepts in a comprehensive manner.• Taught the fundamental elements of cartography and to produce professional-quality maps.

Through collaboration with the National Park service, compiled an extensive report regarding the elimination of disposable plastic water bottles in Denali National Park.Implemented two pilot programs to remove plastic water bottles from tour buses and offer reusable bottles as a substitute, over 500 bus passengers participated with satisfactory results. Organized activities with the employee community to promote environmental stewardship. Constructed over thirty recycling receptacles specially made for the shuttle buses that go into the park, no recycling receptacles on the buses were available prior to this project.

Responsibilities included conducting monthly meetings, speaking with community directors to promote the competition, updating website, creating weekly newsletters, and planning campus events.
