I am a self-motivated 3rd year Queen’s University student with a drive to contribute to global sustainability. Summer 2024, I was thrilled to work at Mackenzie Investments as the Sustainable Investing Intern. At Queen’s, I am enrolled in dual degrees in Commerce, BCom. and Biology, BSc. as well as, a Smith School of Business Certificate in Social Impact. I completed the CFA Institute’s Certificate in ESG Investing and am honoured to be the CFA Associate Student Ambassador for Queen's. Summer 2023, I researched international environmental justice policy at Queen’s University Bader College in England. I believe an educational foundation in both commerce and science will best support me in my understanding of complex sustainable challenges, as well as a diverse range of industries including energy, natural resources, agriculture, mining, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. I have expanded my understanding of energy with a course in energy essentials at Stanford University and as the Finance Director for the Queen's Global Energy Conference. As a Sustainable Investing Researcher with QBACC (Queen’s Backing Action on the Climate Crisis) I applied my sustainable investing analytics skills in a ESG risk factors review of the Queen’s +$2bn Endowment and Pooled Investment Fund encompassing 16,800 investments. I am enjoying fostering a student community around ESG investing, as Queen's Social Investment Initiative Co-Chair, 2024-2025. In addition to sustainability leadership, one of my most rewarding experiences at Queen's was leading Commerce Orientation '24 as a member of CEO (Commerce Executive on Orientation).My interest in sustainability was sparked growing up on the west coast. In 2016, I co-founded TreesCO2 to inspire tree planting through action and education. TreesCO2 raised over $60,000 and worked with over 30 organizations, including Mackenzie. In 2019, I issued TreesCO2's call to action at the UN Climate Summit Weekend Meetings.
