My name is Kaitlin OBrien, and I am a first year Business student at Indiana University-Bloomington.My passion for business began in high school and has only grown since my time at Indiana University. I was involved in a two year course where we explored Wall-Street and the ins and outs of business in New York City. I was also given the opportunity to explore the Bloomberg terminal and watch the NASDAQ opening bell. These once in a lifetime opportunities not only contributed to my interest in business, but also exposed me to professional connections.Additionally, I gained valuable personal skills through volunteering with ENGin- a nonprofit organization providing international support for Ukraine, connecting english speakers with Ukrainians. Connecting with Ukrainians across the globe helped ignite my passion for foreign relations and communication.I have been a dedicated member of U.S. Figure Skating since age 6, which led me to multiple valuable opportunities within the Figure Skating world. Besides the time commitment that is involved with the sport, it also provided me leadership opportunities such as being president and vice president of my figure skating club's junior board where I led an 8 person executive board and a 250+ club. Figure skating also provided me a job working as a coach of all ages creating interpersonal skills and caring for 15-20 toddlers at the rink's summer camps.At Indiana University, I am looking forward to learning and growing not only as a student but as a businesswoman as well. I plan to continue my work in the Figure Skating community and in the business world by becoming the treasurer of the IU Figure Skating Club.
