I'm a helper, do-er, and organizer. I pride myself on being adaptable to any situation, skill, or new technology. I'm a dedicated graduate student at San Jose State University's School of Information, working toward my Master's in Library and Information Science. An alumnus of California State University, Monterey Bay, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Humanities and Communications. I plan to use my education to help the public in a role as a public librarian.My past work experience includes working as an archives assistant for the Archives & Special Collections department at CSUMB, as well as library departmental aide with the Solano County Library system. I've also worked in customer service and as a math tutor at the college level. However, I've found some of my most valuable experiences from volunteer work. From tutoring sixth-graders in English and social studies to serving as an editor at multiple published journals, both literary and academic, I've used my strong skills in writing to help others improve their own writing. I have experience in academic writing, creative writing, grant writing, research proposals, and even a bit of journalism. Whatever the writing style, my skills are flexible to fit it.In my downtime, I'm a reader, music fan, and movie watcher. I enjoy reading diverse fiction that broadens my view of the world. Additionally, I'm interested in learning languages and improving my intermediate knowledge of American Sign Language. Occasionally, I'm also known to play around in Adobe Photoshop, creating graphics and images that pop. I'm continually working on gaining new skills and hobbies - everything is a learning experience!
