This role enhanced my communication skills by making sure that my speech became as concise, informative, and persuasive as possible. Organising my time made sure that I could do my part as a member of the sales team whilst carrying out my supervisor duties, such as care of cash and sales figures. On top of this I volunteered to head up the organisation of the stock room and help with store displays because I believed that an organised workplace was a happy workplace.

During my time at Clarks, I split my time between the stockroom and the sales floor. Shortly after I arrived, I noticed how unorganised the stock room was and how it was impacting the shops effectiveness. Therefore, I took it upon myself to re-organise the stock room and over the coming weeks saw sales figures steadily increase which was noted and praised by the management. Working sales allowed me to learn how to effectively work under pressure as a team, especially during the ‘back to school’ period that saw incredible increases in customers.

The hands-off approach of the management meant I often had to take responsibility of most of the duties in the establishment by myself but always maintained a friendly demeanour with the customers and became extremely adept at multitasking.
