Special Education Teacher
Current• Co-teach, co-plan, and co-assess with general education teachers in order to implement instruction for inclusive seventh grade andeighth grade math, along with seventh and eighth grade English• Differentiate all work to meet a variety of special education needs; track student performance and collect individual student data• Manage caseload and work with students within the following special education categories: Other Health Impairment, Autism,Specific Learning Disabilities, and Emotional Disabilities• Co-teach lessons utilizing evidence-based practices including cooperative learning, engagement, project-based learning, explicitand differentiated instruction, as well as using the Universal Design for Learning framework in order to meet every students’needs• Developed rigorous math goals where students showed growth, with student performance obtaining the objectives; overall scoringan end of the year summative rating of 34, in the upper proficient range• Use time before, during, and after school to provide remediation, tutoring, pre-teaching or homebound services• Develop and implement remediation curriculum for students needing additional support in seventh grade math and English• Complete educational testing using the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test-Second Edition and Wechsler Individual AchievementTest-Third Edition• Hold IEP meetings, and also attend Eligibility and Child Study meetings• Currently sponsor/ participate in the following clubs/ committees: Student Council Association, mathematics committee, Englishcommittee, and National Geographic Geochallenge coach for gifted students; have sponsored the Kindness Club
