Under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Nichols, I am currently studying the differences in movement and forces in the carpometacarpal joint in healthy populations and populations with carpometacarpal osteoarthritis (CMC OA). To do this, I am using Vicon Nexus software to gap-fill and label hand and arm models retroactively for experimental trials over a variety of tasks.In previous semesters, my work focused on studying the effect of arm muscle fascicle lengths on the occurence of CMC OA using ultrasound imaging. I also attempted to use MATLAB to automate fascicle length and pennation angle measurements given ultrasound images.

- Advise freshman engineering students during walk-in office hours on things like academic planning, course scheduling, getting involved on and off-campus, undergraduate research, professional development, time management, and study tips. - Hold one-on-one meetings with students to help them build their four-year plans, semesterly schedules, and answer questions.

Aided in the planning and organization of a 3-day Family Weekend and a 3-day Dad's Weekend for the 2022-2023 school year using a chapter budget, including planning events and activities, finding catering options for brunches and dinners, and creating merchandise for the event.

Under the direction of Dr. Karl Zelik, I studied the use of sensorized pressure insoles for measuring ground reaction forces as part of a larger project to guide recovery protocol from tibial fracture surgery. I focused on creating a calibration for the insoles to retroactively correct the measured forces. For this calibration, I created a scaling factor based on times where the true force measurement is known. I also conducted data collections using a force instrumented treadmill and Vicon Motion Capture Technology. At the end of the program, I created and presented a poster at the Annual Summer Research Symposium.

- Organized daily activities for between 20-30 campers, such as sports-related games, off-property field trips, in-house field trips, water activities, ice cream parties, and movie days. - Taught campers the basics of a variety of different sports, including soccer, baseball, kickball, basketball, and flag football. - Ensured a safe, friendly, and nurturing environment at camp and among campers, identified and managed behavioral concerns between campers, and aided with various camper injuries.

Mental Health Attitudes and Preferences: Under the direction of Dr. Laura Vernon, I studied the differences in the level of mental health stigma among bilingual and monolingual populations through research questionnaires. During my time working on this project, I won the FAU OURI Undergraduate Research Grant ($1,200) and presented a poster at the MPA Senior Research Showcase. Exploring Attitudes and Knowledge about Mental Health: Analysis of a new Mental Health Stigma Measure: Under the direction of Dr. Vernon, I conducted a factor analysis of the mental health stigma measure that studied both attitudes and resource knowledge regarding mental health created in a previous paper titled The Impact of Brief Peer-Led Psychoeducation on Mental Health Knowledge and Stigma by Melanie Sanders. I also presented a poster at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College Undergraduate Research Symposium.
