One of my biggest passions in both my personal and professional life is working with others. From the time I was young, I have found great pleasure in showing compassion and making a difference in the lives of others. This led to seeking a career in education, where I am able to combine my fascination with history and social studies with an ability to work closely with my students. Through this approach, one of my greatest assets is encouraging my students to find their own strengths, voices, and paths.During my time at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, I also earned a minor in Psychology. This background has not only given me the chance to understand my students' minds and development, but to incorporate sociology and the element of human motivation into my instruction. Joining the Raleigh Psychology team as a psychometrist provides another setting to engage with clients on both a personal and professional level. Gaining this experience with psychological testing also provides a different perspective on the underlying causes of neurological disorders (such as ADHD, learning disabilities, and somatic conditions) that can impact a child's learning in the classroom.
