Conducted active and passive monitoring of various native and non-native species in the central California region, such as central California Coast steelhead/rainbow trout, Chinook salmon, Monterey hitch, southern coastal roach, Monterey roach, riffle sculpin, prickly sculpin, and other common species. My experience includes over 630 hours of surveys and monitoring across stream, pond, and reservoir habitats. This includes 70 hours of electrofishing, during which I assisted permitted biologists in handling, anesthetizing, tagging, and collecting genetic samples on steelhead/rainbow trout, as well as identifying, weighing, and measuring over 500 native and non-native individuals. Over 140 hours have been spent monitoring O.mykiss and their habitats through spawning surveys, passage impediment assessments, critical riffle transect monitoring, and the maintenance and monitoring of PIT antennas, Vaki Riverwatcher cameras, water temperature loggers, and dissolved oxygen loggers.

Designed thesis research study titled "An Assessment of Anthropogenic Injuries on White Sharks (Carcharodon carcharias) in Central California" to assess the human impacts to the northeastern Pacific population of white sharks. Utilizing a vast video database, this study comprehensively evaluated the effects of severe natural and non-natural injuries observed on white sharks along central California to shed light on injury types, frequency, geographic distribution, severity, and potential fitness impacts. I found that anthropogenic-related injuries, notably boat propeller strikes and fishing gear entanglements, were extensive across all demographic classes, however, were significantly elevated where human activity was highest. These findings guide conservation decisions to minimize the harmful impacts of human activities in areas of high use, particularly considering regions that may comprise essential habitat for juvenile white sharks.
