Van 2014 tot en met 2016 was hij tevens associate lector design thinking bij de Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Kai zit in het bestuur van stichting Rotterdam Maaskant en zat tussen 2010 en 2018 in de raad van toezicht van het Mondriaan Fonds. //Kai van Hasselt works as a real estate developer at social housing corporation Ymere on building and renovating (existing) social housing in Amsterdam and Haarlem.As an advisor, project leader and developer Kai has worked on a wide variety of projects and spatial-cultural strategies, via Noha, an interdisciplinary advisory practice in Amsterdam which he (co) founded. The company operates at the intersection of urban development, contemporary art and architecture/ landscape. It knows how to mediate between the worlds of spatial, cultural and societal development and offers a truly global perspective. Kai regularly lectures about urban development trends, placemaking and contemporary art collecting in the Netherlands and abroad. He currently serves on the board of the Rotterdam Maaskant Foundation. From 2010 to June 2018 he was a supervisory board member of the Mondriaan Foundation. From September 2014 to 2016 Kai was an associate lecturer on Design Thinking at the Fontys School of the Arts in Tilburg. Before Noha, Kai founded Shinsekai Analysis in 2007, after a brief period at the architectural think tank AMO part of Rem Koolhaas’ OMA in 2006. He studied economics and urban planning at the University of Amsterdam.
