I am an applied economist equipped with causal inference, computational modeling, and data science skills to answer interdisciplinary and policy-relevant problems regarding natural resource management and conservation.I am keen to employ cutting-edge causal interference and data science techniques to understand human incentives underlying the exploitation of natural resources and to quantitatively examine the economic and ecological impacts of management policies in coupled human–natural systems.I earned my Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California at Davis. My dissertation focused on the transition of aquatic food production and management in China to incorporate blue economy principles. To answer important interdisciplinary problems in marine resource management, I was in close contact with experts and practitioners at the frontier of the Chinese fishery production, management, and regulation. One leading chapter of my dissertation studying the causal impact of subsidy reform on fishers' investment decisions has been published on PNAS and spotlighted by Nature Food.
