Creative Research Intern, Big Lab:• Researched new and innovative ways of creating immersive experiences for exhibition visitors. • Helped to ideate different possibilities for installations and exhibition experiences, working on projects like The Hunger Games Exhibition, Avatar The Experience, Expo 2025 and Virtual Humans. Design Engineering Intern under Dyson Haircare Department:• Designed and developed test rigs for durability testing of prototype hair straighteners.• Helped to build and assemble new attachments for Dyson Airwrap.• Participated in Dyson Designathon Competition, designing a new attachment for Airwrap that helps to dry the scalp and prevent scalp-related diseases. Our design came in second place overall. Skills Developed:• Learnt how to use Arduino microcontroller programming and NX CAD software. • Experience with manufacturing and prototyping processes such as CNC laser cutting and 3D printing. • Picked up basic soldering and electronics-related skills.

Design Innovation Workshop Intern:• Involved in assisting and directing workshops on design innovation and the design process to participants from varying age groups. • Developed presentation slides that broke down the design process into 4 stages (Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver). Skills Developed:• Better understanding of the design process and the double diamond model.• Interpersonal skills in teaching and conveying ideas to others.

Infantry Lieutenant, Singapore Armed Forces:• Amongst top 10% selected to undergo 9 months of training in Officer Cadet School. • Commissioned as an Officer (Second Lieutenant) under the infantry vocation in March 2020.• Served as Platoon Commander, 6th Company, BMTC School 4, in charge of leading and training recruits undergoing Basic Military Training.• Promoted to Lieutenant in February 2021.Skills Developed:• Leadership and team management skills.• Instilling a strong discipline and regimented lifestyle.

Intern under DBS User Experience Design Team:• Worked on a project to further enhance the bank’s widely-used mobile payment app, ‘Paylah!’.• Conducted customer interviews to get feedback on usability issues. • Designed and developed a working prototype app for the UX team. Skills Developed:• User interface graphic design using Sketch. • Interpersonal skills when talking and understanding client’s feedback. • Developed better understanding of design process and user centric design.
