Upon graduating from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the University of Alberta in 2021, as a Registered Nurse, I have developed a keen interest in perioperative, critical care, and global health nursing. Thus far, I have had the opportunity to provide patient-centered, evidence-based, and data-driven care in medicine/surgery, acute care, emergency overflow, and the operating room. I find joy in engaging in continual learning in my diverse employment and extracurricular activities. Outside of nursing, I can be found meditating, teaching yoga locally and internationally, running, and discovering new hiking sites. Amongst many traits like resilience, curiosity, and a having a hard work ethic, I believe compassion is a strength I bring to my practice. Like Maya Angelou said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." As a first-generation immigrant, I witnessed firsthand the challenges my parents faced in obtaining formal education and finding employment. I am grateful for the mentorship and support that I have received throughout my educational journey and career. Hence, I am passionate about building equity and accessibility and paying it forward through my involvement as a volunteer with Alberta Health Services, the Art of Living Foundation, Red Cross, and the Grande Prairie and Area Nurses Committee. I believe that carrying out small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect in the community and in the world!
