KAJAL ILMI founded AVIOM HFC in 2016 and is MD & CEO of the Company.Kajal has a vast international exposure having lived in various countries abroad. She is the daughter of a diplomat of the Indian Government. She has grown up and studied in China, Denmark, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Mongolia, Hong Kong etc. She has an extensive corporate life experience having worked with companies like PVR, DLF, Reliance ADAG - to name a few. Kajal has been an active member of various Human Rights Organizations for the past 12 years with a focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India. She has been consistently working on Gender Equality and Inclusive Finance over the years. She has also been awarded as a CNBC Young Turk for her outstanding work in Real Estate. In AVIOM, she is responsible for the overall management of the Company as the Managing Director & CEO along with handling of equity funding and debt funding requirement of the Company end to end. She has organized debt of more than Rs 2000 Crores from Banks, NBFCs and Global Lenders like State Bank of India, IDFC First Bank, Triple Jump, Northernarc, Blueorchard and arranged long term debt from IndusInd Bank which was guaranteed by DFC - U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). During her service she has raised Series A Funds of 2.4M $ from Global Institutional Investors Insitor Impact Asia Fund from Singapore in the year 2017-18. In the year 2019-20 she has further raised 8.5M $ from Global Institutional Investors Gojo and Company from Japan and C4D - Capital for Development from Netherlands. In 2021 she raised 8.5M $ from Sabre Partners. In 2023 she raised 30 million $ from American Pension Fund named as Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (“TIAA”). To create women employment, Kajal has introduced the concept of AVIOM Shakti giving women flexible working hours and doing away with the common and traditional model of Direct Selling Agents in the Finance Sector. AVIOM India Housing Finance gives basic financial literacy training to women and enrolls them as their partner for growth. AVIOM Shakti thus empowers women to earn money which is paid directly by AVIOM into their bank accounts, thereby also bringing women workforce into formal finance.AVIOM India Housing Finance has been successfully working on the Shakti model since its incorporation. Kajal was a Speaker in the G20 Summit on “Women- led Development”. She has also been a keynote speaker at the National Housing Bank (Regulator of Housing Finance Companies) on the occasion of Women’s Day for two years in a row.
