Wealth Reporting & Support Analyst
CurrentIn my capacity as Wealth Reporting and Support Analyst, I play an instrumental role to drive evidence-based decision-making within the Wealth Management team. Leveraging my background in software and data, I construct queries (SQL) paired with effective report building (PowerBI) to extract and display meaningful insights. These solutions, utilized by senior leaders and a dynamic group of over 100 advisors, have proven to be invaluable in shaping strategic directions, and effectively monitor daily the flow of multi-million-dollar sales.A symbol of my expertise lies in my proficiency with scripting and automation, enabling me to craft efficient solutions that not only streamline processes but also enhance overall efficiency. A prominent example of this proficiency is apparent in my success to streamline monthly reporting refreshes, leading to a 50% reduction in associated workload and time. This transformation also minimized points of manual intervention, significantly mitigating the potential for errors.Beyond data-driven reporting responsibilities, I excel in the support function of my role, showcasing my ability to prioritize and cross-functionally collaborate across departments. I have seamlessly organized large-scale in-person/virtual meetings and off-site events while meticulously auditing expense reports and crafting comprehensive report decks. A highlight moment within this area was showcased in the planning and execution of a two-day, department-wide offsite sales event within 4 months into my employment. The positive feedback from the 100+ attendees, including esteemed external guests and speakers, stands as a testament to the success of the event. As I continue in my role, I remain committed to innovating and fostering collaborative relationships. I am now working on expanding my focus to strategy-related initiatives to improve practices and policies of the wealth department to ultimately provide a better experience for members/clients and advisors.
Technical Manager
CurrentCo-manager and lead of technical support for University of Toronto Scarborough Campus’ student-run media outlet. I am responsible for proposing and implementing new and innovative solutions to make the medium of online radio accessible to the community, in addition to creating and delivering training materials for novice users. I am also responsible for leading and organizing a team of staff and volunteers, where I exercise my leadership abilities to delegate and monitor the progress of new initiatives to engage the University of Toronto community. As the technical lead, I am also brought in to consult on the implementation and execution of university-wide events, that involve extensive collaboration with various other departments and external organizations.
Business Intelligence Analyst
As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Porter Airlines, I played a key role in expanding Porter’s Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities. My primary responsibility was to ensure that business units within the organization had access to the data they needed to make informed and insightful decisions. To achieve this, I prototyped, developed, and supported company-wide analytics and dashboards using Tableau. I used my strong working knowledge of SQL to query and analyze large datasets to sift through large amounts of data in the data warehouse to extract critical information that met business needs.I worked closely with stakeholders from multiple teams, both technical and non-technical, to solve ambiguous problems by defining requirements, developing KPIs, and articulating solutions. I also validated data quality and looked for ways to automate recurring processes using my strong Python knowledge to optimize and create efficiencies on regular repetitive tasks.
Business Analyst, Operations Transformation
Returned to the Accelerator Lab in the Operations Transformation department. The pilot program I was a part of in the previous term, had concluded in success, and the Accelerator Lab had expanded the scope of use-cases of the CART reimagined program. I worked in a collaborative environment, with the data science team to create different training data sets, which were then used by data scientists to create new AI models. Once a model was created, the data scientists and I reviewed the performance of the model, to identify areas of improvement for the next model iteration. After 8 iterations, we achieved a model accuracy of 87%. In addition, I was also a part of two other projects, IEM (Intelligent Email Management) and ICE (Intelligent Conversation Entity). In the IEM project, I assisted the Product Owner in analyzing the raw data and creating various data models to present the data to other stakeholders. In the ICE project, I revisited and expanded on my market research findings from the previous term, as the ICE project had many similar requirements to semantic search products. As this was a new project, I worked closely with the project owner to study existing market implementations, proposed a specific use-case, and constructed a project plan. This project plan was presented to the director of Operations Transformation and received approval to move onto the vendor search phase.
Business Analyst, Operations Transformation
Returned to Royal Bank of Canada for a third internship, with a new role in the Accelerator Lab. The primary focus of this department was to re-imagine current processes within the bank. Its key objective was to improve efficiency with regards to the implementation of robotic processes and artificial intelligent automation. As this was a new lab in the department, I was involved in the pilot project of CART reimagined. Through the use of VBA and Python, I assisted the team with devising and implementing cleaning and labelling algorithms, in order to improve the efficiency of labelling the raw data before the manual labelling process. I was also tasked with performing market research on semantic search solutions and implementations that could be used in a bank setting. In addition to online, I also elicited requirements through interviews and document analysis.
Assistant Manager, Commercial Advisory Group (Cag)
Returned to the National Office to support the Commercial Advisory Group for a second summer term. The primary responsibility for this term was to assist the manager of Major Initiatives with a restructuring effort, where Regional Account Managers were reassigned to Commercial Account Managers with the goal of improving lending approval efficiencies, leading to overall customer satisfaction. In addition to that project, I also maintained the duties of data collection and analysis of weekly reports and assisted the Credit Process team in document preparation and document verification tasks. While assisting the credit process team I also developed a VBA tool for the team to use for repetitive monthly tasks which reduced process time from 1 to 2 days to a few minutes per month.

Worked in the National Office supporting the Commercial Advisory Group with the mandate of supporting various managers with data gathering and creation of various reports to provide analytics on the performance of banking initiatives across Canada. Assisted the manager of Strategic Initiatives in collecting data from various internal sources to publish weekly performance reports, and to provide analytics for each operating initiative. Once familiar with the procedures, I optimized the repetitive task by developing various macros using Visual Basics for Applications (VBA). As this freed-up time from my workload, I was able to assist the Associate Credit Officers on the Commercial Mortgage Team. Primary tasks involved reviewing commercial mortgage documents, and ensuring required documents for the annual review of each account, were in compliance with the requests of the account manager In addition to these tasks, I also utilized my graphic design skills to redesign and restructure the department’s internal communication website.
