Time is split between working in a clinic and working in foster care group homes. While in the clinic, I have a caseload of approximately 30 individuals ranging in age from 4 to 57. Services involve CBT, motivational interviewing, supportive services, brief case work, play therapy, couples and family therapy, and more. The Forster care group homes are made up of young men and women ranging 15 to 21 years of age. These individuals are removed either due to behavioral problems or that their home is unsafe/unfit for their care. Their problem areas range from drug use, PTSD and other trauma, suicidal or homicidal ideation a, schizophrenia, aggression/fighting, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. I go to these group homes throughout the week and provide one-on-one therapeutic services.

Involves locating an available bed and forwarding evaluation packet along with insurance information. If at the hospital, also must review face sheets and lab results. o Follow Up: Responsible for follow up calls, opening and closing cases, as well as all data entry.

o Therapy: Assists girls process through a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges such as MDD, IED, GED. Introduce healthy coping mechanisms and participation in therapeutic groups. Teach them how to maintain successful interpersonal relationships with family members, how to resolve conflict, and how to increase their own awareness and development of their social and emotional issues. o Standards: Program requires setting strict standards and behaviors for the participants to enforce a sense of structure, predictability and consistency that may not have been present in their home life, to ultimately teach girls natural consequences so they can successfully function in outside environments.
