Between June and September 2023, I spent a majority of my time volunteering at St. Lukes Hospice, (I had an extended Summer holiday because of my GCSEs), and here I often helped the managers, Yousef and Ansela, run the shop by going through donations to validate whether they were good to sell, registering the good donations to the shop system so that it is able to recognize it, organise donations in the shop itself and then cleaning the shop so that it is spotless for customer. However, I unfortunately had to quit at the start of September as school started again and I was unable to dedicate time to volunteer. Despite this, I felt that I still was able to help and I also learnt a variety of valuable skills in the process.
