Building community, sharing stories, and learning new things keep me engaged in a wide range of projects. I'm currently focused on expanding my data science and design skills — knowing that great data can only be as successful as the story you tell with it — to supplement my robust communications background. After spending more than two decades working in some aspect of the service industry, I used my experiences as the voice of an adventure-fueled brewery and rock-and-roll high school to pivot from behind the bar to behind-the-scenes work. My passion for connecting with individuals launched me into nonprofit and grassroots progressive political work. After serving as the part-time development direct at a start-up progressive organization doing PAC, 501(c)(3), and 501(c)(4) work, I transitioned to a full-time role at ActBlue where I had the opportunity to develop and apply data analyst skills alongside my robust communications and customer service background. My interests in tech and and non-traditional ways of sharing stories also led me to a wonderful freelance partnership with Fusebox Games where I served as an editor, LGBTQ2SIA+ sensitivity reader, writer, and US localizer for two seasons of Love Island: The Game, as well as assisting with some of their other titles.

Project FacilitatorOregon Advocacy Commissions Office Nov 2023 - PresentHouse Bill 4052 Declared racism a public health crisis in Oregon. My team and I, all in limited-duration positions, work to reduce social determinants of health with both upstream and downstream solutions, as well as improving government processes, by collaborating with Tribal governments, legislators, state agencies, and community leaders from across the state. After gathering over 100 recommendations from BIPOC Oregonians, we published an interim report in December of 2024 and continue to collaborate the ongoing work with community members to develop and implement solutions iteratively. Some highlights have included attending the Government-to-Government Tribal Summit and presenting at the 2023 Oregon Rural Health Conference. -
