Engineering has always interested me, from building structures in Lego to constructing modelsof volcanoes as a child for our school projects. I was constantly dismantling things to see howthey worked, and how they were constructed and then reassembling them.I am naturally drawn to Maths and Physics which has steered me towards engineering. I began my ‘A’ Levels in Maths, Computer Science, and IT, and quickly realised that I would be better suited to a more hands-on, practical course and therefore requested to change to BTEC Engineering. Problem-solving, using new techniques and thinking about materials and construction methods in my projects, which matches my aptitude perfectly, which is mirrored in my apprenticeship. With technology changing so rapidly, I am excited at the possibility of working on projects that not only change our physical surroundings but also improve the quality of life for so many people, as well as having the opportunity to shape and manipulate the world we live in.
