As the Quality System Manager at CMS, I supervised the quality inspection department overseeing inspections for incoming material and outgoing product. A major function of my role was maintaining the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 requirements.As head of the Nonconforming Material Review Board, I coordinated product review meetings with relevant stakeholders and management representatives. I also redeveloped and coordinated our hazardous waste collection and disposal program in accordance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. One project I am proud of was the initiation of an OSHA compliant Respiratory Protection Program for employees working under hazardous conditions.This position required frequent data analysis, creation of product reports for customers, and organization of management meetings.

I supported high throughput production of experimental battery films. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to develop and document new film production methods. I was also responsible for the assembly, testing, and disposal of experimental cell designs. Being a research lab, we worked with many different formulations that required frequent optimization and calibration. It was very exciting to work at the forefront of battery technology with Wildcat Discovery Technologies.

As a Research Fellow on the Aerosol Sampling project at UCSD, I was responsible for aerosol sample preparation, experimental testing protocols, data analysis, and interpretation of results. Our experimental procedures involved separation of pollution related ions, collecting concentration measurements through Ion Chromatography, and measuring radioactivity through ion scintillation counting. Outside modeling with NOAA HYSPLIT software was used in the interpretation of experimental results. We were able to identify specific atmospheric events that led to highly polluted environments and achieved unprecedented data sensitivity and quality. Our findings were placed into the context of public health and we had the opportunity to present at multiple research conferences.

With BPS Biosciences, I was responsible for QC related testing for company products. I worked with protein samples provided by the production department. I conducted sample testing, analyzed experimental data, and generated final quality reports verifying a product’s eligibility for sale. Our products used various spectrophotometric identifiers to verify product activity, such as luminescent ion generation, protein binding interaction, or protein binding inhibition. Our components were used by public health research institutions conducting research related to cancer, disease, and general biological function
