As a research assistant and engineer with hands-on experience in academia and industry, I am passionate about pushing the boundaries of materials science and engineering. I have had the privilege of leading teams and working on innovative projects that range from enhancing mechanical properties in biomedical applications to developing sustainable engineering solutions.At BYU's Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering, I currently lead a team of over 10 undergraduate researchers focusing on improving mechanical properties for artificial hip and knee joints, advancing cutting-edge solutions in biomechanics. My earlier work as a Research Assistant at BYU involved developing parameters for Additive Friction Stir Deposition, and optimizing the manufacturing process for AI 7075 builds without lubricants.Prior to this, I served as a Prototype Engineer at Hall Labs, where I contributed to multiple ventures, including developing a pyrolysis system for RV blackwater management. My expertise spans materials science, CAD, data analysis, and hands-on prototyping.I’m driven by a desire to innovate and solve complex engineering problems, particularly those that have a tangible impact on improving human health and sustainability.
