Representing the Community before the Tribal Court during arraignments, pretrial conferences, and status hearings. Reviewing police reports, making charging decisions, and authoring criminal complaints, declination letters, and motions. Preparing and providing disclosure of all discovery materials including requesting evidence. Negotiating and authoring plea agreements and deferred prosecution agreements for assigned cases. Authoring dependency petitions and worked closely with prosecutors on minor dependency and delinquency cases.

Drafting appellate court orders. Examining case files to determine applicability of court procedures. Researching legal sources and rules of procedure to prepare memorandum and legal arguments for use by the justices. Attending oral arguments and participating in subsequent deliberations.

Spearheaded project to draft new section of the Cohen’s Handbook of Federal Indian Law regarding the Antiquities Act of 1906 as it pertains to preservation of indigenous cultural resources. Performed extensive research on pending federal district court cases pertaining to the Antiquities Act and prepared briefs on relevant cases.

In this position, my duties centered on thorough research and drafting as I delved into tribal water settlements, offering informed recommendations concerning tribal water leasing. During my time in I played a pivotal role in standardizing the Community's contract language, safeguarding tribal sovereign immunity. My contributions extended to crafting precise motions and orders, effectively intervening in and assisting attorneys in Indian Child Welfare Act cases.

Assisted on municipal, employment, insurance defense, personal injury, trucking and automobile accident cases. Prepared deposition summaries, medical history summaries, as well as assisted with pre-trial briefs and motions. Attended depositions and assisted attorneys in preparing questions.

Wrote summaries of policy briefings and hearings. Communicated whistleblower complaints as it pertained to the Government Oversight and Reform Committee. Carried out Legislative research and constructed corresponding policy position memos and talking points. Wrote district correspondence and handled constituent phone calls.
