As Content Manager, I oversee a team of in-house and external writers to develop and execute content strategies aligned with our clients' short and long-term goals in a fast-paced, ever-changing digital landscape. Before being promoted to Content Manager in January 2019, I was Triton's Community Manager – head of the small-but-mighty social media department – and a Content Specialist. Though my responsibilities and title have changed, I continue to develop and execute social media content for local and national brands, working with our designers and videographer to boost brand awareness, grow online communities, and drive leads. Duties include creating and implementing social media campaigns, sponsored posts, community interaction, social listening, and reporting.

It was a doggone joy writing articles and creating social media content for SWD contests for over a year – I felt like Oprah giving stuff away every week! Though I've stepped away from this side gig temporarily, the compassionate, driven ladies of Sidewalk Dog will always be my pack.

BringMeTheNews is a digital publication focused on Minnesota news, sports, weather, and lifestyle. As a News Producer, I worked with a team of experienced local journalists to find and report the most relevant content for Minnesota readers. Though I covered everything from breaking news to animal babies born at the Minnesota Zoo, over time I became more focused on lifestyle. "Meet the Minnesotan" was my regular feature, where each month I'd interview locals doing interesting things, from a Vietnam veteran who kayaked the Mississippi start to finish to meet Gold Star families, to a women's fashion designer who competed on Season 16 of Project Runway. I found great happiness in telling Minnesota's stories, and as the project developed it turned into a video series, allowing me to work alongside our talented videographer. My other key duties at BMTN included proofreading and editing, writing news broadcasts for radio, and managing our social media presence.

Copperas Cove, Tx

Cove Banner is an independent newspaper in Copperas Cove, TX, run by a husband and wife team with 40+ years in newspapers. As a staff writer, I worked independently, communicating with the editor through email and phone. It was an important experience as a young writer, as it forced me to get comfortable making cold calls for research, interviews, and quotes. My articles focused on people and lifestyle, as well as local events. My favorite story for the Banner was a profile of a 93-year-old female veteran. On a weekly basis, I was involved with local government; I attended school board meetings and City Council meetings a few times every month and summarized the most important aspects of the meeting, such as major expenditures or issues discussed during the citizen's forum.

Fort Stewart, Georgia

My duties as a freelance journalist for Patch included reporting on local news and current events, writing and editing articles, conducting interviews, and capturing photography. The Fort Stewart branch of Patch largely focused on military life and happenings, and I was able to publish a blog for nine months during my husband's deployment to Afghanistan.
