Ken Kokin is a Los Angeles based producer, known for co-producing THE USUAL SUSPECTS, the 1995 film directed by Bryan Singer. As a Development Associate at Kenneth Kokin Productions, I was responsible for assisting Ken in his everyday tasks as a producer/creator. My duties were to read scripts and write coverage which I discussed directly with Ken. I also edited potential scripts for consideration. I began this position remotely from North Carolina, and made the transition to Los Angeles under Ken's guidance. Ken and I speak daily to this day and talk about upcoming films/ television shows, as well as go over potential projects/scripts.

Known for his films GREASE and BLUE LAGOON, Randal Kleiser is a talented writer/director located in Los Angeles, California. As Randal’s production assistant, it was my responsibility to read film/ theater/ television scripts and write coverage. I worked pre-production, production, and post-production for Randal’s Virtual Reality Television show,” Defrost.” For pre-production, I was responsible for script editing, casting, location scouting, props, shooting schedule, and artwork. In terms of production, I assisted on-site at the shoots with cast management and filming. For post-production, I helped Randal and the editor with cutting, music, and organizing re-shoots. After “Defrost” I continued to work with Randal on his personal documentary. I also attended multiple Virtual Reality seminars with him, where we trained other filmmakers on the technology.

Founded in 2003 by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, di Bonaventura Pictures is a Los Angeles based production company located on the Paramount Pictures lot. They are known for their TRANSFORMER films. As a development intern, it was my job to research films and pilots, deciding whether or not they should be developed into features. I was also in charge of the front desk, managing phone calls, and setting meetings. Script/ book coverage and edits were among my other duties. When Executive Assistants were out on leave, I covered desks including Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s desk and Mark Vahradian’s desk.

Santa Monica, California

Silver Pictures Productions is a production company located in Santa Monica, California, founded by Joel Silver. As an intern, I was responsible for many different tasks throughout the day. I managed the front desk, answered phone calls, and greeted guests. In addition, I read screenplays and pilots, and wrote coverage which I discussed with the producers on a day-to-day basis. On top of my office intern duties, I also assisted with personal assistant duties including Christmas cards, organizing files dating back to the 70’s, and travel.

Burlington, Vermont Area

The Vermont Lake Monsters are a minor league baseball team affiliated with The Oakland A’s. At the ball park, I worked hands on with the managers, players, and fans. My first few years, I was responsible for greeting guests, taking tickets, and general ballpark duties. Once promoted, I became the mascot handler. My job was to walk the mascot around, aiding him with fan photos and his timed appearances on the field. I also picked up extra jobs when necessary. For my final summer, I was a marketing and promotions intern. I worked with the staff/ fans on the field, running mid-inning activities and prepping for each game.

High Point University

I was the teacher assistant for two Mediated Communications classes at High Point University. This involved assisting students outside of the classroom with projects using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere.

Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina Area

WFMY News 2 is a North Carolina local news station in Greensboro. It is a Gannett company partnered with CBS. At the station, I was in charge of operating cameras for the 5:00PM, 5:30PM, 6:00PM, and 11:00PM news. Before each show, I was responsible for turning on the lights in the News Room, Weather Garden, and Studio. I was also responsible for positioning, focusing, and white balancing all twelve studio cameras. During the live shows, I operated the 12 live cameras on air, the light changes, and the teleprompter. When not working on the live shows, I edited the New and Now segment that airs in the first :60 of the 11:00PM show.

At The Mill Market and Deli I was responsible for running the deli which involved setting up in the morning, baking breads and preparing salads/sandwiches, and running the cash register. I was also in charge of the ice cream window in the busy summer months.

Lyric Theatre is a theatre company based in Vermont that puts on two professional productions a year. Under the supervision of Executive Director, Syndi Zook, I learned all about the inner workings of a theatre company. I was in charge of documenting and scrapbooking previous productions, mailing important letters, and organizing the warehouse. This internship taught me a lot about what it takes to run a successful business and how much community support is needed.

Very Merry Theater is a theater company that creates opportunities for teens to put on productions. They get to build sets, act, and learn about all the behind the scenes work.
