My responsibilities within the claims/legal department were to keep track and follow up with all “first-aid” incidents (workers comp and auto) that would occur throughout our different field locations, call body shops and medical providers for updates and taking care of the billing of our truck repairs and medical bills, reporting injuries to CMS for Medicare purposes, complete our annual renewal applications for our business and contractors licenses, complete annual reports for each state that we performed work in, keeping a log and record of our alleged pole failures throughout the year. I also gained some experience answering and gathering information for subpoenas and discovery for cases. I worked below the company's general counsel and paralegal. Throughout this time, I used various computer programs such as; Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lync, Adobe and our two systems: Ultipro and Peoplesoft. I also used general office equipment in order to send emails, overnight letters and packages, send and receive faxes, scan documents, and other common administrative duties.
