I am a Graduate of Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's degree in Communication focusing in Public Relations and Advocacy with a minor in Biology. After graduation, I moved across the country and completed an internship at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in 2022 and currently work off and on seasonally at Deception Pass State Park as a park aide maintaining the grounds of the park and housekeeping for the buildings. I am looking for a permanent position with the employer being either a government organization or 501 not-for-profit organization so I may still qualify for the public service loan forgiveness (PSLF) program. I prefer a position that involves caring for wildlife, conservation, and/or outdoor work. I am open to other areas such as community-based outreach, ecotourism, environmental education, and policy & advocacy work. I am an AmeriCorps Alumni having served a service year (1200 hours) in the Parks and Operations track in Virginia at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. This experience helped me get a general feel for the conservation field and understand how Virginia State Parks aim to protect wild areas while still providing educational experience and subversive times in nature for guests who visit. This opportunity also aloud to become certified in Wilderness First Aid, Class 2 Firefighting, and NAI Interpretive Guide.
