The Assistant Director of the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement, is a 12-month position in the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement (CSLE.) This position will serve as a key staff member in the support and enhancement of co-curricular engagement not only through the creation of programs for students, but also by providing support services for student clubs and organizations. The incumbent will assist in developing and implementing a student leadership development program with a special emphasis on emerging student leaders. This position assists others in the department in planning and implementing new student orientation programs. Reporting to the Director of CSLE, this position is part of a dynamic team of professionals striving to fulfill CSLE’s mission to prepare students for lifelong success, active engagement in a diverse world, and social responsible citizenship through co-curricular engagement and leadership development.

• Serve as a primary advisor to the UB Residence Hall Association made up of 5 Executive Board members• Conduct weekly 1:1 meeting’s with Executive Board to develop and review goals/outcomes achieved, discuses current trends, recognize contributions, provide and solicit feedback• Participate in weekly meetings including Senate, Executive Board, Residence Life Staff, and Duty Area Staff Meeting• Attend all programming and supervise risk management practices, policies and procedures for RHA sponsored events• Advocate for students by serving as a liaison between student leaders and others in the department and university• Monitor the RHA budget of approximately $60,000 and oversee the monitoring of 12 Hall and Village Council budgets ensuring compliance with budget and spending guidelines• Serve on an active-duty rotation for 3 first year buildings with about 1,100 residences, use departmental protocol to respond to crisis or emergency situations, which includes providing guidance to 48 Paraprofessional Staff and students.• Organize and produce an effective RHA E-Board Retreat during the Fall and Spring semesters with RHA President• Develop and implement RHA Leadership Conference training for Hall/Village Council Advisors in conjunction with Assistant Director for Residence Life, train and direct Council Advisors and facilitate weekly Advisor training workshop
