Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) is a one-year AmeriCorps service commitment to support domestic anti-poverty initiatives. Supported the project management of statewide coalitions, which included policy development, issue tracking, building constituency, communications and outreach. Supported local, state, and national efforts to advance economic justice and asset-building opportunities, including a project focused on reducing barriers to higher education access for TANF participants in Illinois; efforts to advance a portable automatic retirement savings vehicle; efforts to support a fair state individual income tax; and efforts to improve access to SNAP, TANF, and other economic supports and services. Wrote research papers, fact sheets and blogs. Led a team of six VISTAs to conduct performance scoring and comparative statistical analysis for the 2013 Poverty Scorecard, an annual report on U.S. Congressional performance as related to poverty issues.

Founding President/Editor-in-Chief of the Ohio State chapter of HerCampus.com.Built team from 1 to 29 people in 18 months. Developed from scratch internal processes, systems, tools, and trainings, including creating an organization chart with defined roles and responsibilities, conducting weekly team meetings, facilitating leadership and growth opportunities for staff, and crafting a succession strategic plan to ensure organizational stability during leadership transitions.
