Managing all technical aspects of both the established product and the development of the fourth generation at Parans and supporting the sales department. The technological development included designe, fine mechanics, sensors, hardware, software, optics and fibre optics. The role also included hands on field work all around the world meeting customers and users during both installation, support and maintenance. Developing and marketing products towards the construction business and commercial buildings means that you are interacting with a wide range of professionals such as architects, constructors, project managers, project developers, light designers, daylight and sustainability professionals as well as tenants. Having a leading role in a small company also entails that you put your hands where they are needed at the moment.

The role as a product manager was basically a 50/50 split between technical project management and business development. Managing the product development of the new product on one hand and selling a product, where you need to shape the market, on the other hand. Marketing a new and innovative product towards a somewhat traditionally controlled business such as construction development is a challenge.With two different products, one established product needing further development and one at an early development stage, meant two vastly different product management roles at the same time.

Arterion developed artificial vascular grafts made of microbially derived cellulose.As a founder and CEO I was one piece of the team that took the company from late academic R&D through early product development to late stage product development with QA/QC-focus and industrial process development. As one of two active founders I had, apart from the traditional CEO-tasks, the responsibility of the technical development while my co-founder managed all clinical and pre-clinical research and development.Arterion also had R&D activities focusing on other medical applications than blood vessels spanning from wound dressings to advanced regenerative medicine. During my time as a CEO Arterion raised around €3M of both private and public capital.

Technology transfer and licensing of inventions developed at Yale University.Apart from continuously evaluating disclosures made by researchers and teachers at the university i had two main projects.- Mapping and investigating high tech start-up's that got venture capital between 2004-06 and perform case studies of successful start-up's. "What are the keys to Series A money?"- Mapping and analysing university-industry research partnerships and co-owned ventures. Focus on the handling of IP in such agreements.

Extended my thesis work to a three month research project where I continued with the most interesting results from my thesis work. Project included the determination of 'modes of action' in bacterial biofilm formation and degradation and mapping of signalling pathways in common wound bacteria.

After my conscript training 1997/98 I served as a 2nd Lieutenant starting 2000. I was both deployed on international operations and served at my unit, Arméns Fallskärmsjägarskola (FJS), in Sweden.
