After graduating from college in 1994 I completed my intermediate level of Chartered Accountancy and Cost Accounting. My interest in writing however stopped me from pursuing a career in accounting/finance.I started my career in journalism in a Chennai-based business magazine - Industrial Economist. After two years there I moved towards the online medium and developed the content for a website. I briefly tried my hand in business too (a year and half) running my own web design firm styled John Galt Creations. Dot com bust at the time brought me back into reporting. I joined Business Standard's Chennai Bureau in 2003 March and soon moved to the New Delhi Bureau as a correspondent in the corporate bureau. Three years later joined Businessworld magazine in New Delhi office as assistant editor. Returned to my home town Chennai and continued with Businessworld for a year or so.Returned to Business Standard Chennai and a few months later assumed the role of bureau chief before moving to London as a correspondent for Business Standard from January 2009.Specialties: Financial and business reporting. Automotive industry has been an area of specialty though I have branched into other sectors over these years. Management-Labour conflict has been another area of interest. I keenly follow industrial unrests.
