Educator
As a 4th/5th grade split level teacher of a diverse student population, I was responsible for prioritizing and teaching according to the common core. I informally facilitated the adoption of the program for other teachers and provided support in using the program. I was also responsible for health and P.E. instruction using the EPEC Michigan Model for my class two days per week. Additionally, I was appointed the policy maker for the health education program. My daily instruction included a balanced approach using blended learning, differentiation for the gifted and low functioning, small groups, long and short term projects, technology integration across the curriculum, character education, and whole class instruction focusing on global perspectives with a combination of positive reinforcement and consequences to model responsibility and accountability. Additionally, I maintained our classroom website with several resources including videos specific to each unit, PowerPoints, eBooks, I also utilized google documents and many google based eTools and screencast tutorials so students could access their work in progress at any time while I could monitor and provide feedback. At year end, as part of the assigned team, I participated in drafting school improvement goals.

Digital Installation Specialist
As a member of the National Geographic Team, I was responsible for contacting district administrators and teachers to roster their students electronically in order to access the full functionality of the program and completing a remote installation. The online products were designed for K-12 in writing, reading, science, phonics and geography/social studies. Since these were statewide adoptions in some states, each account had specific protocols and best practices. As a new product for the company, I presented the features and benefits of the software to other teams within the company using Prezi presentation software. Once I have installed, or “rostered” for a district from hundreds of thousands of accounts using excel, teachers and administrators are provided with additional training and resources, personal assistance, and provided technical support to troubleshoot any technical problems and assist them in using the programs to meet the needs/requirements of the common core. In order to provide efficient access for vast populations for a district, district rosters are data mined for errors, created formulas in spreadsheets and uploaded. In some cases, personalized login data was required for students and teachers which resulted in school/district specific formulas.
