Since returning to Australia, I have been working at the Queensland Mental Health Commission. This role includes developing content across a range of external and internal platforms, media and event management and providing advice and support across a gamut of strategic and operational communication functions.

My role at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation encompassed a diverse range of responsibilities to support to delivery of the Foundation’s emerging external corporate communications strategy and B2B brand. This included identifying opportunities to enhance the Foundation's profile, engaging with media outlets, crafting essential corporate communication materials such as news articles, press releases, briefings, statements, and quotes from our leadership team, as well as assisting with the development of marketing collateral. I also played a pivotal role in developing our web and social media presence and strategy, and efficiently project managing various communication assets as needed.

When first arriving in London, I undertook a short-term contract at Kings College London in their Brand and Marketing Department. My role here primarily involved developing and implementing digitalpaid marketing campaigns to help increase brand and faculty awareness and drive student applications. This role had a firm project management focus and involved regular liaison with faculty and business areas and external creative agencies.

My role at UC involved creating regular and strategic content for a wide variety of platforms, such as social media, internal communications, multimedia and the other University-owned channels including news and feature writing platforms. It also involved proactively pitching to media, drafting and distributing media releases and facilitating media opportunities. Beyond this I worked with stakeholders from across the University to support their communication initiatives and assist with media training.

I previously worked within the Strategic Communication team at IP Australia as a Senior Communication Adviser. As part of a small team, I developed, implemented and evaluated integrated communication strategies. This entailed campaign planning, creating accessible content, web publishing and evaluating communication outcomes for social media and other corporate channels such as the IP Australia website and newsletter. I also managed IP Australia’s media function including preparing responses to reactive enquiries from journalists and proactive outreach.

From June 2019 - June 2020 I was contracted in as an Internal Communications Officer within the Organisational Communications and Change Team at IP Australia. This involved content writing for leadership and internal communication channels, communication planning and management for internal initiatives, and event management. From April 2020, following a restructure of teams this role expanded to include external communication.

I interned in the Internal Communications Department of IP Australia from March - May 2019 whilst at University. My role included: creating and distributing strategic internal communications, event management, liaising with other business groups of the organisation and assisting the change management team.

Gundaroo

Whilst at University I worked at the Gundog Estate Winery Cork Street Cellar Door in Gundaroo as a Cellar Door Hand and Event Staff. The five star winery predominantly focuses on Semillon and Shiraz and is based in both the Hunter Valley and Canberra.

This casual role involved communicating with current University of Canberra students about their experience at the university and referring them to appropriate departments for any assistance they require. The position also required me to assist with events run by the Welfare Department of The University of Canberra.
