• Garnered high acclaim for writing online story “The Littlest Recruits: Are We Pushing Our Kids,” which focused on the pressure of youth sports.
• Collaborated with CNN news crews to write story out of North Carolina about an 11-year-old foster child found shivering and handcuffed to the porch with a dead chicken around his neck. The story, though bizarre, was.

• Wrote and edited content in a high-pressure, fast-deadline environment. Monitored wires and assignment desk information for story ideas.
• Headed online assignments for several big news stories in the area (Kinston, N.C. plant explosion, Michael Peterson & Ann Miller Kontz trials). All of these stories were among the top-viewed stories in site history.
