Roles and contribution:• Porting CSIRO's toolchain to Contiki OS 3.0 on an embedded system.• Developing a framework for large scale sensor data collection consisting of data collection and Bluetooth communication on a C programmed embedded system and developing an Android application for database communication.• Optimising the embedded system power consumption.

Training:• RISA Standard 11 training• Glencore Generic Induction• Newlands Generic InductionDuties:• Attending and contributing to pre-start, production, and superintendent meetings.• Assisting electrician's with calibration tests (pH indicators, ultrasonic level indicators, and pressure sensors, most of which utilised either a HART communications protocol or Vega interface) and earth continuity and insulation resistance tests for VVVF drives.• Writing the scope of work a 10MVA transformer, including specific testing and overhaul procedures along with requirements for supply of equipment, transportation, meetings with representatives from Newlands, inductions and training for contracted workers, working on-site, and providing certificates of conformity for new components.• Performing equipment inspections (explosion protection, bunding, pumps, level indicators, and flow meters).• Composing appropriate inspection documentation for internal components to ensure the relevant Australian standards were met for intrinsically safe equipment.• Liaising with external companies.• Experience with Citect (used to monitor data from equipment) which utilises ladder logic• Collecting and compiling documentation for insurance companies.• Inspecting transformer yards, identifying breaches of the Australian standards regarding explosion protection, and researching appropriate solutions i.e firewalls with the appropriate FRL fire rating.
