The mission of LVABSE is to enhance and facilitate educational opportunities and social development of all students, especially Black/African American children by developing partnerships, creating professional development, promoting the placement of Black/African American leaders, and shaping public policy.LVABSE stands with and supports those who have encountered problems in their school settings. Kamilah serves as the President and was a part of the re-establishing of LVABSE in 2010. The work of LVABSE also includes connecting communities with their leaders. Kamilah works closely with President, Kenya Young to address societal issues that plague our local community. L.I.E, Liberate, Innovate, and Empower serves foster children by shedding light on experiences of foster children in homes and schools. The past L.I.E conference was influential in providing support and resources for individuals who struggle with mental illness. L.I.E is committed to being a resource to the city's most vulnerable people. Through programming, give backs, and building awareness, communities are mobilized.

During this rewarding and enriching experience, Kamilah worked side by side with the Dean of the Chapel. Kamilah developed and implemented programming for chapel assistants and provided mentorship and guidance on their selected yearly activities. Chapel life was fast paced and never boring. Kamilah was influential in creating and organizing the speaker series brunch for notables such as Dr. Cornel West, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, and Dr. Jeremiah Wright.
