I am a dedicated and results-driven built environment professional with a strong focus on sustainable practices. With over 12 years of hands-on experience in architecture, sustainability, project management and research and development, I have successfully led and delivered numerous projects across diverse sectors, such as world exposition, residential, IT offices, metro rail and mixed-use development. ๐ข Professional Journey:Throughout my career, my accountabilities included project review and management; research and development; planning; progress monitoring and controls; design execution; policy review; and procurement and contract management. I have led multidisciplinary teams in executing complex projects from inception to completion. I also possess a comprehensive understanding of green building certifications such as LEED, Green Star NZ, Home Star NZ, Living Building Challenge and BREEAM.๐ Education:After completing my Bachelor of Architecture, I continued with postgraduate study, a Master of Building Engineering and Management, to enhance my project management skills. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sustainable Architecture (thesis submitted for examination; exam due in Oct 2023). My research integrates vegetation into architecture by emulating the natural ecosystem to create a built ecosystem that could generate quantifiable carbon sequestration (the process of actively removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere) and habitat provisioning (providing living space for plants and animal species). My research explores the intersection of architectural design, ecology, and smart urban planning to create more resilient and eco-conscious cities. ๐ฟ Sustainability Advocate:Passionate about the environment, I have spearheaded sustainability initiatives within the organisations I have worked, encouraging colleagues to adopt eco-friendly design principles. I firmly believe that architecture can play a pivotal role in mitigating climate change and biodiversity loss and fostering sustainable lifestyles.๐ Key Skills:Sustainable Architecture and DesignRegenerative DevelopmentPolicy Review and AnalysisStrategy and PlanningResearch and DevelopmentProject Management and Team LeadershipStakeholder Engagement and Communication Management๐ Let's Connect:I am enthusiastic about connecting with fellow architects, researchers, scientists and built environment professionals working towards creating a more sustainable built environment.
