We engage with the community surrounding USC through entrepreneurship-based volunteer initiatives. I was selected to be a member of the case competition team after an interview process, and our team competes in national and global case competitions throughout the year.

Guided by my mentor, a distinguished AWIU member with expertise in international relations, I worked with the founder of the Prince and Princess Academy in Ghana to assess the impact of the non-profit, a pivotal step in securing grants to continue its mission. My role involved conducting interviews with parents connected to the academy and gathering quantitative data through surveys. I have additionally worked on and submitted a completed grant application on behalf of the school to secure outside funding.Aside from this project, I attend AWIU committee meetings to represent the Passport to the Future members. I am also developing a Meaningful Conversations initiative where I will lead a virtual workshop that connects Passport to the Future mentees with AWIU mentors.

As trombone section leader, I work with a partner to oversee our 35 person section. I lead sectionals at the start of every rehearsal, attend leadership meetings once a week, host social gatherings, assign members to play at gigs, and set the culture of the section.

As a band pavilion assistant, I have maintained an extensive record of instrument, uniform, and contract information to manage inventory and ensure financial accountability. Additionally, I construct and repair uniform parts, give tours of the Pavilion, and offer any needed assistance. I have additionally assisted the TMB Recruitment team in giving tours of USC’s campus and manning involvement booths to attract and onboard new members, leading to our largest first year class yet.

I am a notetaker for students who have learning disabilities, and I receive a stipend at the end of each semester for this work.

As an intern for Visionary Youth Los Angeles, I connected with system-impacted youth through activities that aimed to build emotional intelligence and a healthy sense of self. Our team brainstormed and developed workshops that challenged the youth to think critically. I additionally tabled at a recruitment event, which successfully led to a direct increase in the number of youth and families we serve.

Frontida Records is an organization that addresses the problem of unreliable medical documentation. Paper record systems can be inaccurate and inefficient to locate and sort, leading to a lack of continuity of care, misdiagnosis, mis-prescribing. The goal of the organization is to provide a low-cost, customizable platform for health orgs, clinics, and hospitals while also meeting our partners' clinical and cultural needs. I focus on client outreach and conducting market research.

As a peer tutor, I went to an elementary school twice a week and taught two fifth grade students math. This was a powerful experience as the students were smart but simply needed some extra individual guidance on the concepts that were being taught.

During this transition, I successfully retrieved past membership data, creating a comprehensive list of all dojo members. Additionally, I addressed a significant financial challenge by recovering thousands of dollars in backlog payments that had accumulated due to a malfunctioning credit card machine.
