About Kana Pankey
After a previous career as a program manager and leadership instructor, I’m a few years into my 2nd professional life as a software engineer. What this means is that I embody both the enthusiasm of an early-career tech person and the perspective of an experienced leader. Until now, I’ve focused on breadth of experience with a common thread of understanding teams and solving problems. I’ve served in the military and worked at a pre-series A tech startup. I earned my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in international relations. I worked in program management for half billion dollar projects and in training developing a group of 70 college-aged cadets. I have really enjoyed the variety my 1st career provided me and feel so lucky that I was able to explore so many different facets of myself. With my new professional life, I’d like to go deep and really learn a craft. Software engineering fulfills my need for continual learning and tackling challenges while letting me build something that can make a difference in people’s lives.I’d love to chat with you about how, together, we can build something amazing.
