Kandice is a true law firm insider. She started her career as a Corporate Associate in Gibson Dunn's New York office. Building on that foundation, she worked as a Senior Practice Manager at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and then at Fenwick & West. She also worked for several years as Director of the LL.M. program at Fordham Law School, where she was instrumental in launching several graduate degree programs and created the Graduate Professional Development Program. She has advised hundreds of lawyers and law students, and is passionate about helping them find balance, happiness, and purpose in their careers.Kandice conceived the idea of WorkBetter for Lawyers in 2019 when, as Senior Practice Manager at Fenwick & West, she was looking for a Professional Development resource that would provide engaging, short(!), well-produced videos that spoke specifically to the reality of big law firm practice for associates. When she couldn't find that resource, she decided to create it herself. A first-generation college student, Kandice grew up in Puyallup, Washington where she attended community college before transferring to Western Washington University. She holds a B.A. in Music and Philosophy from WWU and a J.D. from Cornell Law School. An avid choral singer, Kandice has performed at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall, Prudential Center (NJ), Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center, and Safeco Field (now T-Mobile Park in Seattle), and has shared the stage with Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Peter, Paul & Mary, ballet dancer Wendy Whelen and more. She lives in New York City with her two daughters and rescue pup Coco.
