Kane Alexander is a third generation artist. Alexander’s thirst for adventure has resulted in him travelling the world capturing the natural environment as well as pursuing and documenting human experiences. Some of Kane’s work entail the creation, placement and depiction of his own sculptural responses to dramatic landscapes in Patagonia, high altitude deserts in Bolivia and central Australia. These are among works which have been described as hyper real and have received him acclaim in Melbourne Newspapers. A strive for artistic integrity has resulted in the artist employing self imposed guidelines in his practice, including minimal use of digital manipulation and an aversion to the overly contrived. Immersing himself in natural environments and situations, Alexander encourages and plays with the unpredictability of subjects and places. The result is striking, candid imagery that remains both honest and mysterious.Alexander’s works are multi-layered depictions of reality; conceptual, emotive and inspired by a desire to capture real situations.
