About Kanea Macdonald

Theatre director and teaching artist interested in work that is joyful, magical, and has a lot of heart. My specialty is in Theatre for Young Audiences, and as such I spent 4 years working at Imagination Stage on the administrative side, teaching and directing there and with other companies in the DC theatre scene. I am particularly passionate about theatre for and with youth and communities, and am excited to now be working toward my MFA in this field at UT Austin.

Oversaw a 52% increase of Facebook page likes, and a 184% increase of Instagram followers — gaining 742 followers on our primary platform to reach our current total of 1,145. In terms of overall reach, I have overseen an increase of 127% on Facebook and 191% on Instagram. Successfully established the planning and routine execution of the center's first-ever unified marketing and communication efforts. Oversaw the growth of the CIC’s marketing team going from 0 fully dedicated team members to managing a team of 2 full time employees and the support of multiple student staff members. Contributed to a significant increase in applications for competitions and programs as well as attendees for events — seeing a shift from initially: consistently having to cancel events or extend deadlines; to now: when we continue to see record numbers of applications and RSVPs.
