Lng E&I Commission Technician

Downer Infrastructure Services

Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning $75b Chevron 3 train LNG site working on the dual load out facility(jetty).Being one of the first nightshift technicians on the load out facility crew I worked closely with the construction and followed the project from Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning through to the hand over and operational support.I was responsible for all equipment associated with the Jetty including both load out arms, all fire and gas systems, final metering, cooling of the LNG tank loadout lines and the all safety instrument systems.Undertaking these tasks I was able to show my ability to lead and work autonomously to a very high standard, in doing so I was given large responsibility from my supervisors e.g complete subcontrol for all works undertaken on night shift, handover to day shift, allocation of works and task to technicians, permit submission and allocation. This was one of Downers first Instrumentation commissioning projects and due to the great work completed by our small crew and a very satisfied client, Downer has now gone on to win multiple large instrumentation projects. I left this site very proud of what was achieved and enjoyed my time with Downer.

Gladstone

Commissioning Technician at the Downstream $40b APLNG Facility, I was again part of a large crew at times north of 170 technicians that was in charge of commissioning the two LNG facilities My major roles were Fire and Gas safety systems and Cause & Effect testing across the entire site. While working on fire and gas I was responsible for commissioning all associated instrumentation along with attending alarm call outs , function testing, rectifying issues and also providing engineering fixes for recurring problems that arise.Working with Cause effect I was responsible for testing across both trains, this involved validating all input and outputs both software and physical, ensuring all the I/O changes give the correct corresponding action and if not provide a solution in a timely and efficient manner. In conclusion working across these two fields gave me a really good understanding of the entire plants both process and facility layout wise due to the large spread of work .I was also able to showcase my communication and teamwork skills via interacting closely with the large technician crew and the client operations team.

When undertaking this work I was able to showcase my excellent leadership abilities, teamwork, professionalism, fault finding and problem solving skills. I was also asked to provide input and solutions to some engineering challenges that arise from a project of this nature. Overall I left this project proud of my work and myself for what I was able to achieve and even more importantly what I learnt.
