Engineering LeadIntel Corporation Sep 2008 - Jan 2011Santa Clara, California, Us- Part of the cross-geo team responsible for defining the architecture & developing Intel Wireless Display (WiDi). - Designed / Implemented the video capture subsystem in the host WiDi stack (non-HDCP). Developed a kernel mode driver based on KMDF (WDF 1.9) targeting Windows 7. Developed the entire host media pipeline based on DirectShow. This consisted of a custom video source filter, along with the media graph manager stringing a custom audio filter, a buffer and many 3rd party DSHOW filters. - Designed / Implemented complete Multichannel audio capture subsystem in the WiDi stack. Involves developing a Bus driver & a Virtual Audio Driver. Worked with MSFT to identify a ranking solution for my VAD multichannel endpoint. - Lead the efforts the WHQL done for all the Kernel components of WiDi working closely with different MSFT teams to resolve any WHQL issues. - Setup a proper build process – a centralized server based solution, used by teams across geos. -
Senior EngineerIntel Corporation Jan 2007 - Aug 2008Santa Clara, California, Us- Worked on integrating Intel’s NAND solution in to the platform.- Worked on the tool chain for an Intel proprietary debug methodology. This was for an upcoming multi-processor planned to be released around mid2009 – codenamed Dunnington. -
Engineering ManagerIntel Corporation Nov 2005 - Dec 2006Santa Clara, California, UsManaged a team of 14 people. Responsible for delivering many post-silicon tools (debug / test generation / execution automation), working closely with Intel sites @ USA/Israel/Malaysia. -
Senior System Validation EngineerIntel Corporation Apr 2004 - Oct 2005Santa Clara, California, Us- Lead a team of three for developing a Processor debug tool using C#, P/Invoke and native DLLs. - Tool made use of the DFx (Design for Testing/Validation) hooks to do many debug activities exposed via JTAG (like micro-breakpoints, array dump, scan chain snapshot, parse/decode register sets etc.)- Designed and developed a rule engine module for the in-house bus analyzer tool. This analyzer tool was developed from scratch for the next generation, point-to-point bus protocol (QPI) and FBD (Fully Buffered DIMM). - As part of the rule engine, designed/developed a compiler and VM (Virtual Machine). - Development platform was Visual C++ 6.0 SP2, with MFC. -
Senior Software EngineerSt Microelectronics Aug 2003 - Mar 2004Geneva, Switzerland, Ch- Lead a team of four engineers, working in the ADSL controller less modem drivers. Responsibilities included adding new features to the existing Windows Device driver and to provide support to the customers. These drivers were developed using Numega’s DriverWorks framework. Other responsibilities included training / coaching the team members on the various aspects of Windows driver programming and on xDSL technologies. - Part of the team developing a module in VxWorks for programming the Cyclone FPGA. Responsible for the rebase module that sets up access to the internal registers of the FPGA.- Developed a Mass production Tool (MPT) in Windows that was used in the mass testing/production line, supporting ST’s Unicorn / 20152 / 20162 family of modem chipsets. -
Senior System Software EngineerAmerican Megatrends Jun 2000 - Jul 2003Norcross, Georgia, Us- Developed a Barcode stream driver for Windows CE 3.0. Driver made use of Corelogic’s Bar code reader. This driver had to do isochronous data transfers for transferring the captured images from the BCR device, in real time- This driver was one of the early successful implementations of ISOCH_TRANSFER using Windows CE 3.0 USB stack, which was very unstable at that time. Microsoft recognized this by offering a contract to AMI, for debugging Windows CE 3.0 USB stack. - Developed a SCSI miniport driver for exposing a virtual storage device. The driver passed all the SCSI commands to the iSCSI target, running on the same machine.- Developed a legacy kernel mode driver, which initialized the CAN controller and provided an interface for reading/injecting packets in to the CAN bus. It accessed the controller via parallel port. - Developed a three systems CAN (ECU) simulator. The ECUs were simulated using systems running embedded DOS. The parallel port cable was modified and used as the CAN bus. The system consisted of a CAN port driver (PARPORT), CAN functionality module and the main user interface (MFC application).- Developed an OHCI USB Host controller driver for Microware OS/9. This used SA1111 companion chip’s internal controller. SA1110 was the main processor. The Host controller driver exposed APIs for all types of transfers including ISOCH_TRANSFER. - Developed a printer class driver for Microware OS/9, layering over the abovementioned OHCI controller driver. - Developed a SOFTMODEM driver in Microware OS/9, supporting V.90 standard, going up to 56Kbps. The chipset used was Lucent Apollo core. The driver supported MNP5 compression.
