My key strengths that would support my success in this position lies in expertise with Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote sensing, planning and development with geospatial technology and state-of-the-art visualization to understand the dynamics related to natural resources and ecosystems. What are the implications on natural resources due to anthropogenic factors and climate variations? How does land-use and hydrological practices impact ecosystem services and disservices? These questions have continued to intrigue my imagination and I have focused my work on exploring these questions for policymakers, researchers and communities. Close to decade, my research has examined linkages between forests, climate change, agriculture, water, degradation, and socio-economic dimensions. Presently, my Ph.D. work is ‘Exploring the spatial patterns and the role of climatic and anthropogenic factors in Himalayan region’. The study aims to envisage the patterns for greening and browning of the Himalayan region coupled with climatic and anthropogenic drivers.
