About Kanwar Singh

The courage to persist matters more than success or failure in life.โ€จKanwar is the CEO of Skyline Nav AI - a computer vision GPS-independent geolocation and delivery capability. As a first generation American, he also serves as a Captain in the US Army (Signal Corps). He is the lead inventor of an issued patent and has several machine learning patents pending. With a lifelong dedication to serving others, Kanwar believes that success comes from building strong trust, engaging in decision-making with diverse perspectives, and a commitment to solving complex societal challenges.โ€จAs a Sikh warrior with unshorn hair, beard, and turban, Kanwar was rejected 16 times when trying to serve. Inspired by Rep. John Lewisโ€™s Good Trouble and Senator John McCainโ€™s military service, bipartisan support from US Members of Congress, the White House, Secretary of Defense, retired military generals, and a historic civil rights/religious freedom lawsuit (Singh v. McConville), Kanwar commissioned as an Army officer in 2018. Today, tens of thousands of Americans of all backgrounds serve with their articles of faith. Women no longer have to keep their hair in a bun. African American women no longer have to straighten their hair. Kanwar played a small role in breaking down these barriers and ensuring that every qualified American can serve in the US military.โ€จKanwar has co-authored a financial accounting textbook and has taught at Harvard University. He has completed graduate studies in computer science, finance, accounting, and management from Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts. He has also completed an Exec Ed program in AI from Harvard Business School. He received his bachelorโ€™s degree with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a graduate of University of Virginia's Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership.โ€จKanwar's military decorations include Army Commendation Medal (with 1 oak leaf cluster), Air & Space Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, German Armed Forces Proficiency and Norwegian Foot March Badge. He has also participated in six Boston Marathons, winning first place in the 2022, 2023 & 2024 military marches.โ€จโ€จ Kanwar holds FINRA Series 24, 7, and 63 as well as CISSP, Security+, CSPO & ACSPO.     Captain Kanwar Singh is the Assistant Team Lead, Defense Cyber Operations Element (DCOE), MA Army National Guard. He is responsible for leading a team that provides secure communication applications, capabilities and infrastructure for military operations. He previously served as a Network Operations Officer in the 126th Cyber Protection Battalion and a Platoon Leader for the 26th Network Support Company, 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB). He started his career as a Network Operations Officer and acting Brigade S6 in HHC, 26th MEB. He has completed the Signal Captains Career Course (SCCC), Pre-Command Course, Signal Basic Officer Leader's Course as well as a Warfighter Exercise with the 26th MEB. He has also mobilized for State Active Duty during the civil unrest in 2020. He enlisted in 2015 and went through the National Guard State OCS program for his commissioning.
