Hi! I'm Kara Avery! I'm in my 9th year of teaching in Racine, WI. Throughout those years I've taught 1 year of Kindergarten, 6 years of 4th grade and 2 years of 5th Grade. I've spent my career teaching general education, but I am also certified in Special Education and as a Reading Specialist. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Cardinal Stritch University, where I was a student-athlete, academic all-american, and graduated with honors. I earned my Masters Degree in Literacy from Concordia University-Wisconsin.I am very well versed in integrating technology into my teaching practice, especially with teaching remotely/hybrid through the Covid-19 pandemic, but integrating technology is something I still continue to use in my practice daily.

  I've taught Kindergarten in addition to grades 4 and 5, and several of those coming during a pandemic no less. I've strived to include technology into my teaching my entire career, to help students prepare for its ever-growing role in society. I've also been sure to support my fellow teachers in using technology in their practice as well.
