I work with young people aged 16-17 on the Autumn and Summer programmes. It is my role to ensure both mentors and young people are safe and happy when on programme. I am responsible for leading one-to-one mentor meetings and dealing with safeguarding issues or disclosures from both staff and young people, following the correct procedure and company policy when needed. I ensure young people are arriving on time to activities and room checks are undertaken. This summer I also ran some short educational and PSHE based sessions in week two of the programme. It is important I work as a positive leadership team and have a good rapport with mentors and young people.

I oversaw a small team of customer service assistant colleagues. For this role, I had to maintain a good and friendly work environment for my team and provide friendly and helpful customer service. Jobs included; opening and closing the store, organising breaks, working on self-service machines, organising overtime, dealing with customer issues, such as refunds or complaints, making sure I followed company procedures e.g. stock rotation, answering phone calls and making sure tills and shelves were tidy and fully stocked.
