• Leading the content strategy •I worked closely with the Editor in Chief to develop and implement the editorial strategy and content development for DynaMed, EBSCO Health’s flagship clinical decision support product. Our editorial teams focused on ensuring concise, accurate, and clinically relevant content. I managed a review process and partnership with the American College of Physicians, which focused on ensuring the content was useful and relevant for internal medicine physicians.• Leading the people •Our editorial staff was >100 and the physician contributor network continued to grow. I directly and indirectly managed >50 editorial staff and contributed to recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new staff. I have demonstrated effectiveness in professional development for the team, conflict resolution, and problem solving.• Leading the process •I was highly focused on opportunities for continuous improvement, including refining the organizational structure to support the growing editorial team, improving the editorial process utilizing Kanban methodology and data analytics, and transitioning to a new content management system. • Leading other initiatives •I provided editorial review and oversight for Option Grid (EBSCO Health’s shared decision-making product) and Consumer Health (EBSCO Health’s patient information product). In October 2017 we established a small satellite office in a WeWork location in Boston. I led the planning for the move and have become the unofficial “office manager.” We had 15 team members who worked there permanently and we hosted many guests and meetings in the space.I led the planning for the DynaMed Executive Board Meeting & Summit, an annual 2.5-day conference for the Executive Board and our stakeholders. In 2019 we hosted >200 guests at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. My role included program development, event planning coordination and logistics, and outreach to attendees.

In my role as Managing Editor, I developed and implemented the organization structure for our specialty-specific publishing teams and expanded to leading leaders. Our editorial staff grew to >60 and the physician contributor network grew to >200. I directly and indirectly managed >25 writers and editors. Additional key accomplishments during this time included:• Overseeing content production and editorial strategy that enabled the launch of a new product, DynaMed Plus in 2015• Managing review process and partnership with the American College of Physicians• Planning an annual 2.5-day conference in Boston for the Executive Board and internal and external stakeholders – from conception of the idea to implementation, including event planning coordination and logistics, program development, and outreach to attendees.

I continued to expand my role as the product continued to grow (increased revenue, increased global usage). During these five years we continued to grow the team and launched an initial organizational structure. I began to directly manage a team of Medical Writers, developed a robust three-month Medical Writer training program, and developed a potential Medical Writer career pathway to foster professional development opportunities.

I was the second person hired after the acquisition of a startup (DynaMed) with <$0.5M in revenue at the time. My title was Medical Writer but I embraced all of the chaos inherent with an M&A and focused on learning the skills needed to be efficient and effective. I worked closely with the Founder/Editor in Chief to continue to create digital content while also developing and applying processes and tools to scale the organization. This included implementing editorial policies, content templates, policy and procedure documentation, and editorial tools. I also participated in recruiting, hiring, and training of new editorial team members, including Deputy Editors, Medical Writers, Editorial Assistants, Operations staff, and physician Peer Reviewers.
