Figuring out my direction post high school took me a little longer than normal. Similarly to many eighteen year olds deciding on a future was stressful. I took a year off in hopes it would help me figure out what I wanted to do. I ended up in the Animal field to begin with since animals have always been a huge passion of mine and I had spent many years working with them. But after a year at a college in Leicester Massachusetts, I discovered my true passion was partnered with English and all aspects it came with. From reading and analyzing poetry and stories, to writing research papers, I fell in love with English as a subject. Luckily for me I had a knack for writing as well. My change of heart forced me into attended a small community college in the North-shore of Massachusetts for a year. There, after taking on more English, I knew where I wanted my future to go or at least what direction. Eventually I ended up at Temple University in Philadelphia. The change of environment was great and I finally felt at ease with the changes I had made. I went from a small town girl studying a field in science, to a big city girl taking on one of the liberal arts. I feel as if I made the right choice and now I am searching for a career that I can be passionate about, a career where I can read, analyze, create, write, and share. A career where my skills and passions can flourish.
